The duet consisting of Kalina Macuta and Daniel Blanch has been performing at big festivals all over Spain since 2002. They were unanimously awarded a medal at the 50th Barcelona International Maria Canals Competition. The auditorium at Caixa Catalunya's La Pedrera that hosts their concert today was also the venue for their recording of the two Beethoven sonatas now on sale, and a new compact disc will be out shortly, devoted to miniatures by little-performed Catalan composers. This evening they offer a journey through the Romantic virtuosos, starting with Schumann and ending with "our own" Joan Manén.
