Winner of the first prize from the Paris National Higher Conservatory of Music at the age of 16, Jean-François Dichamp has picked up a good number of international distinctions from a very early age, and he has used this to build a career that has taken him to perform in more than a dozen countries. The critics highlight his sensitivity and maturity. Particularly attuned to the Romantic repertoire, the programmes he offers today illustrate the stylistic contrasts of this period in the history of music: from two composers celebrating anniversaries this year – Schumann and Chopin – to Mompou, and including Schönberg.
