Description

From Italy comes this young pianist considered one of the best on the European and international scene. Born in Bari in 1978, Fornarelli is a masterful follower of the wave founded by the greats of contemporary piano jazz. He boasts a perfected technique and all-enveloping discourse, with influences from different languages. In 2005 he made his debut with his album Circular Thought (Wise Sound Label), saluted by critics and fans.  An admirer of the late Michel Petrucciani, to whom he dedicated the album A French Man in New York (Wise Sound Label, 2007), Fornarelli has worked with musicians like Flavio Boltro and Francesco Bearzatti. The well-known trumpeter Paolo Fresu has defined him as an “intimate musician working on a base established by rich melodies and the spot-on harmonies, taking us into delicate forms”. Fresu has also classed him as “one of the best young pianists of today” and he has even ventured that, with Fornarelli, “jazz will continue to be world music”.  Words of a wise man inviting all fans to go down the steps of the Jamboree.
