Last January we were able to enjoy the savoir faire of this supertrio led by a pianist, Albert Bover, who takes the best from the lyrical jazz piano tradition with his stripped down technique, as he proves on albums like Live in Jamboree (1998), Old Bottle, New Wine (1999), or the discs recorded in a duet formation with the double bass player Horacio Fumero; a true specialist in the art of the piano, double bass and drum trio. But the Japanese Masa Kamaguchi, the latest great revelation of Barcelona jazz and sideman to almost all the greats on our jazz scene, also deserves a mention. and, of course, there is the great multi-instrumentalist Jordi Rossy who, to everyone's delight, has recently returned to outstanding performances on the drums. Here then, we have a trio of equal partners, with no leader and with three musicians who could lead any top-class project.
