Description

 With over 60 recordings under his belt, Peter Bernstein is one of the most sought-after guitarists on the New York scene, the city where he was born 43 years ago, and where he began his successful career in 1989. A disciple of the legendary Jim Hall, Bernstein caresses the archtop guitar with the same savoir faire as the instrument's greatest figures, but without foregoing innovation. As Jim Hall said about him, "He pays as much attention to the past as he does the future." Bernstein has played sideman to classics like Melvin Rhyne –Wes Montgomery's former organist– Lonie Smith, Lee Konitz, Lou Donalson or Jimmy Coob while also playing as founding member of Joshua Redman's band. He has played with musicians such as Brad Mehldau, Larry Grenadier, Bill Stewart or Larry Goldings and has worked on projects with Nicolas Payton and Eric Alexander. A smashing who's-who that has made Bernstein one of the most significant guitarists of recent times.
