The flame of retro soul is kept alive thanks to the expressive force of artists like Steffen Morrison. Theirs is an approach drawing on the rhythms and tunes of the greats of the genre, but also the harmonious sounds of the Crystals, the rock of the Rolling Stones and the lyrics of Lou Reed – a set of musical influences they season with their own style. Morrison began his career in the nineties in bands in his own country, Holland. Thanks to his relationship with the Norwegian producer Tjeerd Oosterhuis, he recorded his first EP, Just Another Man, in 2016, which he managed to get into the hit parade for the first time. With his first album, Movin’ On (2018), he began a world tour that put his name on the same bill as the likes of Maceo Parker, Joss Stone and Gregory Porter, among others.
