A new window opens on the very best of trans-oceanic electronica with this month's Soirée Mutek. This time the Canadian connection brings to our venue one of the biggest names emerging from the US scene over the last few years. Formally signed to the ranks of the minimalists, but with a breadth of views that goes beyond all labels, Dave Aju arrives from the Bay Area with a sensitivity that recovers and updates the free jazz inheritance of the beatniks in a contemporary context. A true musical gentleman who has spent more than ten years producing notable music and who has received tributes from one of the stature of Matthew Herbert, who has signed him up to run his Accidental label. He will be accompanied by Vincent Lemieux, one of the minds responsible for extending the Mutek philosophy throughout the world.
