The name of Clarence Bekker is among the hidden treasures of Barcelona. This flying Dutchman, whose career now stretches back more than 30 years, was “discovered” in 2006 by the American producer Mark Johnson while singing with his guitar in the streets of Barcelona. His band is one of the most reliable groups touring the country and, as resident of the Jambosoul nights on Thursdays at the Jamboree, this time he appears with the seductive voice of Michel Clavero as a very special guest. He is a Barcelona singer with a powerful voice and long career in soul and funk in this country, drawing on the tradition of masters like Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and James Brown.
