Born in Salzburg and trained from the age of five at the famous Mozarteum University in that city, pianist Astrid Steinschaden continued her studies in Barcelona under professor Stanislav Pochekin in 2008. She has taken master classes with such leading figures as Elisabeth Leonskaia, and has won numerous awards as a soloist, accompanist and in chamber groups, including first prize in the 2008 Eugènia Verdet International Piano Contest. As well as performing in Barcelona, Astrid has appeared on stage in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and the United States, and is regularly invited to acclaimed summer schools throughout Austria and Germany.
