LENA WILLIKENS + ALICIA CARRERA in Barcelona

Lena Willikens’ characteristic style was shaped at the Salon Des Amateurs – a German club where eclecticism is normal and lack of prejudice is the law – where she was resident DJ for several seasons. It is not surprising that she should have been adopted by the Cómeme tribe, fellow champions of musical bizarrism, when it was time to release her LP, a catalogue of ghost beats and dance drones called Phantom Delia and a magnificent example of the outernational sound. And although it might seem that her discography is sparse, it is completed with a number of remixes, soundtracks, audiovisual projects and the Sentimental Flashback radio programme. All this is reflected in her sessions, in which she mixes styles like proto-techno, industrial boogie and dark disc, testing her own limits and those of her audience. Together with her will be Alicia Carrera, a young woman with roots in Galicia and Barcelona who has been shaking up the airwaves and nights of the city ever since the dublab.es project.
